Labor relations are social relations that are directly related to labor process in the whole social system. From an economic perspective, labor relations reflect the basic economic interests between the individual and the organization and management of workers. As the basic social relations, the status of labor relations is an important symbol when measuring the level of social harmony of a country or region. Paying attention to the coordination of labor relations, and maintaining harmonious labor relations, will promote economic and social development. Otherwise, the contradiction of labor relations is prone to be frequent and influence the industry development and social stability.However, with the continuous deepening of the reform and opening up and socialist market economy, market-oriented and interest-oriented labor relations bring a growing trend of contradictions and conflicts. Accompanied by the gradual improvement of the legal system, laws applicable to the adjustment of labor relationships are improved step by step, but they did not fundamentally ease the upward trend in labor dispute cases. All the signs indicate that only the combination of the legal regulation and ethical readjustment could build a better socialist harmonious labor relations.This paper mainly includes three parts. The first part , take the labor and labor relations theory as the starting pointes , and ownerships and labor relations as the clues, a comparative analysis of the theory characteristics of Marx labor relations, the characteristics of labor relations under the traditional planned economy system, as well as the characteristics of labor relations under the socialist market economic system, in order to deepen our understanding of labor relations at the present stage in theory. The second part includes the basic summary of the harmonious society that is proposed in the CPC`s Fourth Plenary Session of The Sixteenth Central Committee, and sum up the characteristics that should be possessed by the harmonious labor relations. In this context, starting from a typical case of labor disputes, this part makes the analysis of moral issues and their causes from the ethical point of view. The third part introduces the concept of ethical adjustment in labor relations. The practical significance of ethical adjustment is interpreted from three aspects which include the purpose of ethical adjustment in labor relations, the reality demands and the ethical basis. Finally an effective way of building harmonious labor relations through ethical adjustment is proposed from different point of view, such as from government departments, the two main sides of labor relations, the labor union and the news media.
