China's Textile Industry, "west" Transfer

The textile industry is China's traditional industry. It occupies a very important position in China's national economy. In recent years, with the rapid development of china's economic and people's needs, the demand of textile and apparel is also increasing. But because of the global financial crisis which was caused by U.S. sub-prime crisis, China's textile industry has been badly hurt. In particular, the eastern region of the textile industry suffered heavy losses. So, many eastern enterprises expect to transfer their production to the middle and western region. They want to change the bad situation by that way. The method has also been warmly welcomed by the middle and western region. However, are all the provinces in the middle and western region suitable for this textile industry transfer? That is a question. This article is focus on the textile industry transfer under this global financial crisis in China.In general, this article can be departed into seven parts. The first part introduces the research background, research object, research methods and research logical lines. The second part summarizes the industrial transfer theory which was studied by the foreign and domestic scholars. It lays the theoretical foundation for the follow-up analysis. The third part describes the development trend of the modern textile industry. And the forth part studies the reasons which influence this textile industry transfer in China. The next part using the econometric models analyses the China's textile industry transfer. The results prove that not all the provinces in the middle and western region are the suitable areas for this textile industry transfer. Only Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hunan, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Xinjiang are the best areas for undertaking this textile industry transfer. Then it describes the development of textile industry in the suitable areas which are selected by the fifth part of this article. And based on that, give some relevant suggestions. The last part gives some conclusions and points out problems which need further research.
