In this paper, the essential oils were extracted from Ephedra sinica Stapf(ESS), Notopterygium incisum Ting(NIT), Zingiber officinale Rosc (ZOR), and drug pairs ESS-NIT and ESS-ZOR respectively. The chemical components of these essential oils were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) together with heuristic evolvimg latent projections (HELP) method. The common compounds between the individual drug and drug pair were analyzed by the method named alternative moving windows factor analysis (AMWFA).Sixty compounds of ESS were identified, representing 64.34% of the total content, among which the main components were p-Menth-1-en-8-ol/C10H18O (7.44%) ; Benzylidenemalonaldehyde/C10H8O2(4.84%); 8β-H-Cedran-8-ol/C15H26O (4.05%); Pentacosane/C25H52(2.15%); 5-methyl-2-(1-methylethylidene)-Cyclohexanone/C10H16O(2.63%) ; Fifty-six compounds of NIT were identified, representing 83.25% of the total content, among which the main components were 2,6,6-trimethyl-Bicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-ene/C10H16(21.65%); 6,6-dimethyl-2-methylene-Bicyclo[3.1.1]heptane/C10H16(19.06%); D-Limonene/C10H16(4.46%); 1 -methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-1,4-Cyclohexadiene/C10H16 (3.74%); 4-methyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-3-Cyclohexen-1-ol/C10H18O (3.47%); Sixty-one compounds of ZOR were identified; among which the main component are (R)-(+)-β-Citronellol/C10H20O(20.44%); Camphene/C10H16(11.39%);α-Citral/C8H16O (8.05%);β-Citral/C10H16O (5.02%) ; Sixty-five compounds of drug pair ESS-NIT were identified, representing 75.69% of the total content, among which the main components were 2,6,6-trimethyl-Bicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-ene/C10H16(18.18%); 6,6-dimethyl-2-methylene-Bicyclo[3.1.1]heptane/C10H16(15.33%); 1-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-1,4-Cyclohexadiene/C10H16(3.28% ) ; D-Limonene/C10H16(3.13%); 1-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-Benzene/C10H14 (2.79%)。Thirty-seven compounds of drug pair ESS-NIT were only from NIT, eight compounds were only from ESS, ten new compounds were only in the drug pair ESS-NIT, there are ten compounds among the three system.; Sixty-four compounds of drug pair ESS-ZOR were identified, among which the main components were Guaniol/C10H18O (15.42%);α-Citral/C8H16O (13.61%); (-)-Zingiberene/C15H24(6.50%); alpha.-Farnesene/C15H24(5.42%); Benzylidenemalonaldehyde/C10H18O2 (2.92%)。Sixty-four compounds of drug pair ESS-ZOR were identified, among which the main component was Guaniol/C10H18O (15.42%);α-Citral/C8H16O( 13.61%) ; (-)-Zingiberene/C15H24(6.50%);α-Farnesene/C15H24(5.42%); Benzylidenemalonaldehyde/C10H18O2 (2.92%)。Twelve chemical compounds of drug pair ESS-ZOR were only from ESS, Twenty chemical compounds were only form ZOR, and twenty-three chemical components were only in drug pair ESS-ZOR. There are four chemical compounds are common among the three systems.
