Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is one of the most common chronic diabetic complications, which is of a high incidence and of early onset. DPN seriously reduced the patients'quality of life. TCM has advantage on treating the disease, but TCM has not been used to unified standardization and normalization of syndrome differentiation. The standards of TCM haven't been established. This paper aims to solve this problem. Studying differential syndrome distribution of the patients, this paper probes into the syndrome feature and suseptibility factors of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and try to find the relations between Chinese medicine syndromes and indicators, and to expand the vision of Four Diagnostic Methods.According to clinical standard for diagnosis, 142 cases of DPN were enrolled. The following information was collected: symptoms, signs, stages, and relative inspection methods. Statistical analysis showed that:①blood stasis, Yin deficiency, Qi deficiency, guitar heat, Yang deficiency, phlegm-dampness were common.②The results showed that the following syndromes were associated with the other: Qi deficiency and Yin deficiency, Qi deficiency and guitar heat, Yang deficiency and Qi depressed, Yang deficiency and damp-heat, Yin deficiency and blood stasis, Yin deficiency and guitar heat, Blood deficiency and Qi depressed, Blood deficiency and Blood stasis, Qi depressed and depressed heat, phlegm-dampness and blood stasis, damp-heat and phlegm-dampness, Blood stasis and phlegm-dampness, Blood stasis and guitar heat.③Qi deficiency, guitar heat, Yin deficiency, blood deficiency often accompanied, Qi depressed, depressed heat, blood stasis, phlegm-dampness, damp-heat often accompanied.④DPN is based on Qi deficiency, blood deficiency, Yin deficiency, Yang deficiency, as well as the depressed heat, phlegm-damp, blood stasis.⑤Syndrome was positively correlated with the course of DPN, 10g nylon filament inspection and MNSI.In all, the results in differentiation showed the standard of DPN syndrome is concordance with the traditional viewpoints in TCM, and at the same time, indicating the characteristics of the disease. The quantity of such indexs is objective, and is easy to operate in the clinical work.
