With the prompt development of economic globalization and regional integration, nations in Eastern Asia, instructed by the goal of the East Asia Community, have built a series of mechanisms in sub-regional, regional and supra-regional cooperation, as well as the framework that conforms to the features and interests in Eastern Asia. Based on the multilateral framework, this article makes a review of the relations between China and Vietnam in history and both the achievements and problems as well, through which and the analysis of both countries’ policies the influence on East Asia integration by China and Vietnam would be revealed. The impact of each country’s foreign policies is significant on the other, as a result the relations supplement the regional cooperation. Based on the trend analysis of bilateral relations, China–Vietnam relations stand at a new start point of history, China and Vietnam will have a broad prospect for further cooperation and thus multilateral coordination to promote peaceful, stable and prosperous development in East Asia.
