Environment, Strategy, Structure - The Hexi Company Internal Organization Study

HEXI, as second major company in solid rocket motor manufacture field in the nation, is facing a huge opportunity which have nerve been met before. The demand of their products and technology has grown rapidly and the increasing tendency is continue. But it is getting a problem with production and research development. This thesis has studied its organization structure and management status, put forward that the problem results from the unreasonable organization structures which has not been adjusted when the environment has changed. According to the corporate strategy theory, environment, strategy and structure must meet the environment and strategy.There are three parts in this thesis, which are as follows:Chapter one illustrates the background of the selection of the subject, gives a presentation of HEXI company. It explains briefly change of the environment and its problem. According to strategic management, especially dynamic adjustment and mutual fitness among environment, strategy and organization structure, chapter two expounds the theoretical basis that this thesis relies on. Chapter three give a presentation about the organization structure and the management status of the company. Chapter four analyses the reason why the company is getting a problem with production and research development. Then, give the main opinions on this thesis that the organization structure is not suitable the environment and the strategy. Organization structure is one important part of strategy management. Organization structure must be taken into the account as a strategy is designed. And in the last part, the author comes up with a set of organization structure measures in order to solve the problem.
