Nowadays one of the most remarkable population phenomena is aging population. The development of worldwide economy is based on the situation of population while population economy is a branch of the social economy, influencing and restricting the development of social economy. Insurance industry is a thriving industry in China, which has a direct impact on the economy. In the same time, economy is influencing the insurance industry. This text will probe into a kind of new developing insurance kind based on old economics foundation -Long-Term Care Insurance. It appeared in U.S.A. in the 1970s, and then in the eighties appeared in Germany and France in succession. Meanwhile, it began to sprout in Japan. Though the long-term care insurance of Japan starts relatively late, development speed is the fastest, and the reason is the deterioration at full speed of the current situation of aging population. This text will analyze the current situation of long-term care insurance in the developed country at first, and then will summarize two kinds of different long-term care insurance types. U.S.A. and Japan as developed country, because the social structure and the trend power of aging population are different in two countries, the mode of the long-term care insurance chosen is to differ greatly. Secondly, it is analyzed why that the development of long term care insurance in various countries is necessary and what results have happened. But this insurance kind is a new developing one, and the problems which have brought out should be solved timely. Lastly proceeding from the economy development level of China and objective people's current situation, getting the experience of developed country for reference, the development model of long-term care insurance with Chinese characteristics is objectively put forward.
