With the rapid development of economy and society, China's economic system and superstructure are in the pattern of enormous changes and adjustment, the number of social disharmony factors are increasing and become more complicated. So, as the coordinator, the petition staff's work stress level has reached an unprecedented height. Based on this, the thesis is aimed at discussing the petition staff's work stress and the relationship among work stress, personality traits and work performance. And the thesis proposes a corresponding stress management countermeasure in the end.First of all, the thesis clarifies the subject of the research, containing its background and significance, and then proposes the framework of the thesis. By using the theoretical and empirical, qualitative and quantitative methods, the research is carried out in two phases:The first phase is theory research, which overviews previous related literature, analyses the issues qualitatively, and proposes the initial assumption of the research. On the basis, the thesis analyses the interviews to the petition staffs, designs the questionnaire and collects the relevant data in preparation for the second phase of the research.The second phase is empirical research, which makes statistical analysis for further clarification of the relationship among the petition staff's work pressure, personality traits and work performance.Through this research, we get the following conclusions:① the petition staff's work stress is constituted of stress from work tasks, organizing mechanisms and environment, their own factors, and career development. These four dimensions of work stress can be divided into enstress stress and distress stress according to their attributes,;② there exits correlation between the petition staff's work stress and their work performance, and the work stress has certain prediction on the work performance;③ there also exits correlation between the petition staff's personality traits and their work performance, and the personality traits has certain prediction on the work performance as well;④ the petition staff's personality traits interacts with work stress, and influence the effect that work stress has on work performance.Through this research, we can have a better understanding of the petition staff'swork stress situation, and provide a basis for their stress management in a targeted manner. In that case, the thesis can help the petition staff's work stress maintain at a fine level and improve their physical and mental health. It can also help to improve the work performance of the petition staff, in order to make the petition mechanism play a better working in the process of building a harmonious society.
