Path Selection Of China's Social Stratification And Political Reform

Along with the establishment of market economy and the magnifying gap of possession of resources among social members, China has being a clear social strata division, and this phenomenon will continue for a long time. Scholars made thorough researches on the social stratification in China from a variety of perspective. In light of different in citizens possession of political power, our citizens can be divided into four strata: political leaders, civil servant stratum, public policy influencers and political alienation stratum. Among them the political leaders and public policy influencers affect more on Chinese political reform.The transformation of the interests of different strata is the essence of social strata division, and it is reflected in the diversification of strata interests and the complexity of strata interests game. Transformation of interests of different strata lie in a great change of Chinese ownership structure, transformation of the industrial and occupational structure and the impact of economic globalization. Transformation of different interests of strata is an important inducement of political environment change, political system runs on specific political environment, so China need to take into account the impact of social strata division while reforming political system.The influence on Chinese political environment made by social strata division is that social strata division provide propulsion to construct democracy and nomocracy, promote the development of civil society and deepen the political participation of Chinese citizens. Political reform bearing on the ruling party's leadership directly, so China need to find a safer and better path to carry out political reform in a changed political environment. There are four effective policies we can carry out now: reform the National People's Congress(NPC) Election System, and improve strata interests representing mechanism; promote the rule of law, and protect the rights and benefits of different strata according to the law; cultivate civil society, and sound the system of social organization; maintain the Party's class character , and expand the governing mass foundation of the Party.
