Along with education reform and the promotion of New Curriculum, the primary and secondary music education is particularly important during the quality education advocating today. Since the reform and opening up, pop music has penetrated into people's daily lives, and its strong sense of the times and affinity conquered the majority of audiences. However, we had to reflect a common problem faced in music teaching—the students love music but they don't like music class, which deserves much of the considerations for the music teachers in primary and secondary school.This paper based on the results of previous studies and conducted the experiments on the investigation of certain students in Fuyang, Anhui province. Conventional research methods are used which includes questionnaire, interview, sampling, observation, statistic and analysis. The thesis analyses the situation of pupil's accepting pop music and the relation between pop music and music education by combining concrete research answers and data and the author's teaching practices. Music education can face pop music directly and instruct effective teaching, thus has an authentic, overall and practical effect for the well-being of the pupils. At the same time, the author tries to present concrete method for pop music in music education. The purpose of the paper aims to provide some recommendations and comments for those primary and secondary school music teachers on how to guide pop music into music education.
