| Since the21st century, with the rapid development of the human society, the average human life expectancy and health standards have improved, and the international community has attached more importance to the aging population. As one of the more economically developed eastern coastal provinces, the aging population of Jiangsu is increasingly obvious, and the " Silver Hair Tide " is coming quickly. As early as1986, because the number of population aged over60has reached10%of the total population, Jiangsu Province has officially entered the aging society, and more than13years ahead of the country, it is one of the earliest provinces into an aging society. The aging population has profoundly affected the social and economic sustainable development of Jiangsu Province, and as well as many other aspects of people’s lives. It is imminent to analyze the countermeasures for the province’s aging phenomenon.The aging population research of Jiangsu Province is mostly from the perspectives of demography, economics, sociology, and medicine research, but this paper aims at the perspective of geography. Its innovations:Firstly, based on the county and municipal levels, the differences in the aging population of Jiangsu Province are explored for a more in-depth study in terms of two dimensions, that is, time and space; secondly, the use of ArcGIS and SPSS and other related analysis software will analyze the results in order to characterize the thematic maps, helping to analyze the regional differentiations and mechanisms of the aging population of Jiangsu Province.Based on the perspective of time and space, drawing in2000and2010census data of China and from the county-level basis, it studies the elderly population statistics of2000-2010in Jiangsu Province and other indicators, such as the aging population factor, the proportion of young and old population, the aging population speed, the elder support rate, the aging population density and the aging population distribution center of gravity, with the relevant mathematical statistics. And it reveals the regional differences and the inner evolution mechanism of the aging population of Jiangsu Province. Further based on the municipal level, it selects eleven factors of aging population, including the mortality rate, the birth rate, the per capita GDP, the population density, the level of urbanization, the number of illiterate population, the city’s total number included in the basic old-age insurance, the number of medical and health institutions, the average annual disposable income of city and town residents, the proportion of working-age population and the average life expectancy of residents, to use the gray correlation method to identify and clear the importance of the influence factors of the aging population in Jiangsu Province. Then it is classified as the population and its social development aspects, the social old-age security aspects, the cultural education aspects, the social development basic aspects, the economic development level aspects and the population natural development aspects in six aspects to research. Afterwards it selects the level of economic development among the six aspects as an empirical study to reveal the correlation and differences of the aging population in Jiangsu Province. It is concluded that it plays an important role in the aging population development and the regional differentiation of Jiangsu Province. Finally it puts forward some measures and suggestions for dealing with the aging of the population, which not only has much important significance to the healthy development of economy and society in Jiangsu Province, but also has a certain reference significance for eastern coastal economically developed provinces of China to deal with an aging population. |
