As one of the important school running types, private higher vocational colleges as well as state-run vocational colleges, focus on training development-oriented, comprehensive and innovative talents with technical skills required by industrial transformation and upgrading and technology innovation of the enterprise. With the rapid development of modern scientific technology and increasing competition from the market economy, more comprehensive demands have been put forward as to the quality of graduates from vocational colleges by our society and companies. It is essential that higher education fully implement the quality education according to the strategic theme of the national education reform. As an important link of quality education, the education of humanistic quality covers knowledge, idea, method and spirit of humanity and leads students to self-knowledge and self-taught. Together with professional education, it takes on the tough task of nurturing all-round students in higher vocational colleges.This study takes the humanistic quality education in private higher vocational colleges as the research objective, through such methods as the literature research method, investigation method, interview method and action research. Based on the reality of three private vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province, this thesis makes an investigation into the situation of humanistic quality education and analyzes its strength and weakness. The interviews have been made with the teaching staff, undergraduates, graduates and the management staff of school-enterprise cooperation units to provide empirical basis for the research as well as enrich the understanding of humanistic quality education in higher vocational colleges. In the meantime, the author works in practice, continues to collect first-hand information, accumulates research data, and puts the research thought into the guidance of education practice as well as teaching practice to verify it.Through the research, this study believes that currently the problems of humanity education in private higher vocational colleges are mainly as follows:there is a orientation bias in the talent cultivation objective; the humanistic quality education is not fully practiced; the teaching faculty cannot meet the demands of humanities education; the courses of humanistic quality education cannot meet the demands of students; the construction of campus culture lags behind; the cultural atmosphere is not strong enough. In view of the above mentioned problems, starting from the internal construction of private higher vocational colleges, this study proposes countermeasures to improve the humanistic quality education in private higher vocational colleges. They are mainly as follows:Using the flexible management system of private higher education institutions as a booster to enhance the internal driving force of humanistic quality education; taking promoting teachers’abilities to carry out humanistic quality education as the goal to construct a high-quality teaching teach of private higher vocational institutions in multi ways; foucsing on independent curriculum to construct the humanisic quality education curriculum system to improve students’ basic humanistic qualities; basing on the public welfare of private education to construct campus culture of private vocational school, etc. Through the above strategies, the thesis aims to keep close to the reality of private higher vocational colleges and provide practical humanistic-quality-education ideas for improving the talent training quality.
