| In recent years, Chinese education in Thailand continues to flourish, more and more Chinese volunteer teachers go to Thailand to teach Chinese, temporarily alleviating the shortage of Chinese teachers in Thailand. Most of them were assigned to secondary schools in Thailand, while in the process of teaching Chinese, they understand the current status of teaching high school in Thailand, as well as some urgent problems. As a Chinese volunteer teacher, I am honored to be assigned to the "first portal" Chumphon, in southern Thailand. During one year’s Chinese teaching, the author emphasised on Sawi wittaya school as the main object, investigated and analysed the status and problems of Chinese teaching in Chumphon high school. I hope that this investigation and study can help the later Chinese teachers, and can promote the development of Chinese education in Thailand.The survey is divided into two parts. The first part is to the interview volunteer teachers. By communicating with volunteers, the author tried to understand their current situation and problems of Chinese teaching in the schools. Seven Chumphon’s public high schools, including Siryapai school, Tungtago wittaya school, Lamae wittaya school, Muang langsuan school, Thasae Ratchadapisek school, Sawi wittaya school, Paknam Chumphon wittaya, were included in this survey; the second part is a survey of learning Chinese attitude in Sawi wittaya school in order to understand the students’attitude of learning Chinese.In chapter1, the author introduced the process of teaching Chinese history and current development in Thailand, as well as research methods, purpose, significance and research contents.In chapter2, on the basis of previous investigation, the author analyzed the status of Chinese teaching in the schools of Chumphon. Firstly, the curriculum situation in seven schools is overviewed respecctively; secondly, comparisons between these schools are made from the perspective of teaching level, time allocation, usage and the school’s overall strength, etc; finally, according to the level of Chinese teaching in the seven secondary schools, they were divided into three stages. In chapter3, according to the investigation, the author analyzed the Chinese teaching problems in the high school in Chumphon. The main problems are serious lack of local teachers, heavy workload of the teachers, frequent replacement of teachers and other issues; For students, there are differences in learning gender, the level of learning, and the poor discipline condition in the classroom; For books, there are difficulties in choosing teaching materials, and teaching materials are not standardized; For schools, the schools pay little attention to teaching equipments, the treatment of Chinese teachers is low and other issues; Also for Chinese language itself, it is relatively difficult to learn and the students are afraid of difficulties. Analysis is mainly from teachers, students, teaching books, school, Chinese language itself five aspects.In chapter4, the author mainly discussed the problems in Chinese teaching of the high schools in Chumphon Thailand, and gave some countermeasures to solve these problems.Conclusion part summarizes the full text, and puts forward the innovation of this paper and the insufficiency. |
