New curriculum standard pointed out "oral communication ability is an essential ability for modern citizens." The editors of junior Chinese by Jiangsu Education Press inherent the New Curriculum spirit. They arrange a list of contexts about oral communication in the six copies in Junior Chinese with utmost care, which highlights the importance of communication in spoken Chinese. But the current situation in real life is not optimistic. Both teachers and students pay less attention to oral communication compared with reading and writing. Many contexts in the textbooks are not actually practiced in the periods. Thus, students’ability of oral communication is not obviously improved. The author study and research a large number of relative achievements through teaching practice. The author deeply analyze the system of the oral communication in junior Chinese textbooks by Jiangsu Education Press from some aspects like teaching goals, knowledge systems as well as design and the ways of evaluation on assignment. The author identifies the main advantages and disadvantages in them which establishes a strong base for using the context. Through making surveys to teachers and students, the author learns about the problems in teaching and the causes. Through the steps above, the author tracks out several countermeasures such as refining the teaching goals of communication in spoken Chinese according to the grade in junior Chinese, constructing the list of oral communication knowledge and ability, setting surroundings in class-exercises to strengthen practice and multiplying the evaluation in oral communication teaching.
