The individual geography homework is the key to geography education. It issignificant to consolidate students’ geography knowledge and to cultivate students’thought and emotion of geography. Geography curriculum reform demands more ongeography homework, thus, geography homework embodies more and deepersignificances. As for the geography education in the schools which are located on thefrontiers, designing individual geography homework scientifically is significant topromote geography curriculum reform in those schools. Guided by the idea of newgeography curriculum, the author re-examines the design the of individual geographyhomework. This is aimed at providing the schools located on the frontiers with someuseful advice about how to take advantage of individual geography homework.The paper consists of5chapters.The first chapter is introduction, in which the author elaborates the core conceptof individual homework in the schools located on the frontiers. Besides, the author inthis chapter studied the situation of the theory and practical significance of individualgeography homework.In the second chapter, the author explains the theories about the design ofindividual geography homework in the school located on the frontiers. The authorelaborates the connection between constructivism and the design of individualgeography homework and the connection between the theory of multiple intelligencesand the design of individual geography homework.In the third chapter, the author analyzes the current situation of individualgeography homework in the schools located on the frontiers. The author asked thegeography teachers and students to finish the questionnaires. Processing andanalyzing the results of the questionnaires, the author knows about the currentsituation of target teachers and students in the schools of current frontiers.In the fourth chapter, the author analyses the problems of the design of all kindsof question types in individual geography homework. According to the situation ofgeography homework in the schools located on the frontiers, the author analyzes theproblems and offers design considerations about question types in individualhomework. The design problems and considerations about multiple choice, blankfilling, matching items, material analysis, short answers questions and open-ended questions are covered in the chapter.In the fifth chapter, the author studies the methods of design of individualgeography homework. Besides, with the help of own experience, the author givessuggestions about how to design individual geography homework. By doing this, theauthor intends to ensure the quality of the methods of setting questions in individualgeography homework.All the studies in this paper propose the development direction for the design ofindividual geography homework. With the reform of new geography curriculum,individual geography homework has changed for the better. It tends to be individualinstead of being close. It goes to real life rather than being limited in books and it paysattention to diversity. In this paper, the author makes many studies about the questiontypes of geography homework in middle school. Besides, the author explains thedemands of individual geography homework on geography teachers. At the same time,the author provides the suggestions about how to adopt proper ways to ensure thequality of the design of individual geography homework. The studies can also providegeography teachers with the references about how to design homework.
