Education is mankind’s activity which purposes are students ’ lifelong development and self-realization.Its ultimate objective is sustainable development. The Curriculum Reform composes mainly of studentsand pays attention to all-sided development of the students. The use of city walls which belong to homegeography curriculum resources to high school geography curriculum is not only consistent with thestudent’s cognitive process, but also contributed to the achievement of teaching goals. What’s more, itcan assist students to become a lover of hometown and nature.This paper is in an attempt to sum up the characteristics of city walls which belong to homegeography curriculum resources, and its principles and policies of development and application. Inorder to accomplish this, T reads a lot of books and other documents related to city walls, geographyteaching and curriculum development. And I use a case study of Beijing Ming city wall ruins Parkwhich using field research method. The paper is meant to theorize the practice issues and as a referencefor curriculum developers and teachers. This paper is divided into five elements. First portion introducesthe background and significance of the research and sum the current status of research and application athome and abroad of the use of city walls which belong to home geography curriculum resources.Second portion is core concepts such as heritage, walls, geography curriculum resources and theories.During analysis, the paper sums up the characteristics of walls including historical, geographical,vulnerability, integrated, secure. Third portion and forth separately pay close attention to developmentprinciples and strategies and application principles and strategies. Finally, using Ming city wall ruinsPark as an example and field investigation method, develops six points associated with the high schoolgeography curriculum content, involving the size of Beijing in Ming and Qing dynasties, Beijing’srailway network in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. Principles and policies as thestandard, each application has one example and each example has an actual mechanical process.such asfield trips has ex-store of knowledge and organization of work, inspection procedures and study groupdiscussions. The conclusion part is the summary and reflection on the subject.
