The new curriculum reform has been pushed to Guangxi,and the new teaching materials,new curriculum and new college entrance examination have put forward higher requirements to teachers and students.Under the background of "three new",teachers pay attention to the development and utilization of curriculum resources,learning strategies and teaching effects in the classroom.Beihai is rich in natural and socio-economic local geography curriculum resources,which are highly relevant to the content of the new textbook,but the research on local geography is less developed in Beihai,and the level of development of local geography curriculum varies in actual teaching.The research on vernacular geography is carried out for the benefit of geography teaching in Beihai as well as the future development of society.Therefore,taking Beihai city as an example,this paper investigates the current situation of the development and teaching of vernacular geography curriculum resources in Beihai city and proposes countermeasures to the existing problems,hoping to enrich the cases of teaching vernacular geography in Beihai high school and provide cases and materials for high school geography teaching.This study mainly focuses on three major issues,collecting and organizing the teaching resources of vernacular geography in Beihai City through literature survey method and interview method,sorting out the types and characteristics of vernacular geography resources in Beihai City,based on the new curriculum standard "Interpretation of the General High School Geography Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition Revised2020)",corresponding to the new textbook Geography 1 and Geography 2 related knowledge points to summarize and summarize;taking Beihai City Different types of high schools as the research area,the use of local vernacular geography resources in teaching in Beihai City was investigated by questionnaire method as well as interview method,and different directions were investigated at the level of secondary school teachers and students respectively,focusing on the investigation of the use and development of resources on the part of teachers and on the evaluation of the teaching mode of vernacular resources on the part of students;based on the results of the high school geography teaching in Beihai City on the use of vernacular geography The results of the survey on the current situation of resource utilization,the current problems were found,and through case studies and teaching practice,two geography practice activities and contextual teaching were designed,teaching countermeasures were proposed and teaching empirical evidence was carried out for the selection of vernacular geography resources from the natural and human aspects,respectively.Through the above studies,the following conclusions were drawn:First,the types of vernacular geographic resources in Beihai are rich and diverse.The types of vernacular geographic resources in Beihai City are divided into two major categories,and the regional characteristics of the types of vernacular geographic resources in Beihai City are outlined in terms of the natural environmental resources as well as the human environmental resources,and in terms of the eight aspects of climate,geological landforms,hydrological features,agriculture,industry,tourism,population,and transportation.Secondly,the development and utilization of high school native geographic resources in Beihai City need to be strengthened.In the survey,it was found that there is a big gap in teachers’ professional level,among which teachers in urban areas study and use the vernacular more frequently,while teachers in rural areas rely mainly on textbooks in classroom teaching and less on the integration of vernacular resources.Generally speaking,teachers in Beihai have shallow development of native geography curriculum resources,most of them are only used for introduction or simple case analysis;the sources of native geography curriculum resources are relatively single and lack of systematic development of curriculum resources;high school teachers have limited energy to develop native geography curriculum resources and schools pay less attention to the development of native geography curriculum resources;there is a serious lack of extracurricular geography practice activities in high school due to many factors.Thirdly,students’ practical activities outside geography class are lacking,and their understanding of vernacular geography things only remains on the surface.Students like to learn geography in real life and want to participate in practical activities outside geography class,but in reality,due to the constraints of many factors,most high schools seldom carry out practical activities outside geography class.In their daily lives,students have a low level of understanding of the surrounding areas and need to strengthen their observation and understanding.Fourth,when conducting geography extra-curricular practice courses as well as teaching humanities aspects of vernacular geography,students are found to be highly motivated to learn and more likely to grasp the important and difficult points of the course.In the teaching practice,we develop geography extra-curricular practical activities and vernacular geography teaching design according to the actual needs of teachers and students.In the teaching evidence of the development and utilization of local geography curriculum resources,I carried out two geography extra-curricular practical activities of campus vegetation and hometown soil,as well as geography 1(nature)and geography 2(humanities)to select the coastal geomorphology of Beihai and the service industry location and its changes respectively,and finally carried out teaching practice in my school and proposed countermeasures.Fifth,this study confirms the importance and necessity of developing and using local geography curriculum resources,which are very effective in practice.The results of the study are important for high school teachers to enrich teaching methods and contents and to increase students’ awareness and pride in their local area. |
