| The General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition,2020 Revision)emphasizes the development and application of geography curriculum resources,and encourages teachers to develop and apply geography curriculum resources around students to meet students’ interests and individual development.Campus,as a place where students live for a long time,is a geographical area formed by a series of natural environment and human environment,the interaction and mutual influence between educators and educatees,which contains vivid teaching situations and the most realistic research materials.It is necessary not only for students but also for education itself to use the resources of the school’s geography curriculum as a vehicle for integrative learning to cultivate the thinking habit of students to actively think about and investigate geographical things and phenomena around them.This paper taking the High School affiliated to Southwest University(later known as HSASU)as an example focuses on the development and application of on-campus geography curriculum resources,and adopts literature,action research and survey methods to systematically analyse the content,development and application status and dilemmas of geography curriculum resources on campus.Based on the specific teaching practice cases,this paper reflects and summarizes the experience and problems in the process of developing geography curriculum resources in school until now.From what the author analyzed above,principles,procedures and general strategies for the development and application of on-campus geography curriculum resources are proposed,with a view to providing some references for front-line teachers to develop and utilize on-campus geography curriculum resources.The specific research results are summarized as follows:(1)The author conducted a questionnaire survey on investigating 44 geography teachers in the HSASU and sorted out the current situation of teachers’ development and application of geography curriculum resources in school: ○1 most geography teachers have a high recognition of the curriculum resources in school and can fully understand their importance;○2 teachers are burdened with heavy work and lack of time and energy to develop and apply on-campus geography curriculum resources;○3 their personal educational background and thinking are limited and they lack theoretical training and methodological learning in curriculum resource development;○4 they have insufficient understanding of the school resources,and the development of curriculum resources is unconscious and random,lacking systematic design and management.(2)Combined with the relevant academic research,the author outlined the seven aspects of on-campus geography curriculum resources and used them as a framework to systematically analyze the campus environment,campus culture,geography teaching facilities,human resources,information resources and subject curriculum resources of the HSASU,and sorted out the corresponding on-campus geography materials based on the nine teaching themes of high school physical geography.Through the analysis of the three development practice cases of "geography around us","Stone story" and "lifting the veil of fog",this paper puts forward the following thoughts on the development and application of geography curriculum resources in the school based on the practical teaching of pre-class discussion,observation in class and after-class reflection :○1 innovative forms of geography teaching to enhance the vitality of geography teaching;○2 reasonably arrange the classroom capacity to make effective use of curriculum resources;○3 display of achievements to give full play to the dominant position of students;○4 Pay attention to multiple teaching evaluation and promote the all-round development of students.(3)In response to the problems mentioned above and the thinking of teaching practice,this paper firstly proposes that the development and application of geography curriculum resources in school should follow the principles of adapting to school conditions,comprehensiveness,common participation and adaptability.Secondly,it proposes the development and application procedures : set up an on-campus geography curriculum resource development team;systematically investigate the on-campus resources according to the nature of the subject;comprehensively analyze the on-campus resources according to the requirements of the curriculum standards;reasonably select the oncampus resources according to the teaching content;and implement feedback and optimization of the on-campus geographic curriculum resource.This paper also proposes a general strategy for the development and application of on-campus geography curriculum resources.Development strategies:○1 pay attention to the secondary development of teaching materials resources,○2 focus on the role of teachers and students as human curriculum resources;○3 develop geography teaching facilities resources in depth,○4 actively cultivate the school environmental resources,○5 build a school geography curriculum resource library relying on network technology.Application strategies:○1 use the on-campus geography curriculum resources to create Teaching contexts and activate students’ existing experiences,○2 use the geography materials on campus as teaching and analysis cases to stimulate students’ interest in inquiry,○3 carry out practical geography activities on campus to improve students’ geographical practice ability;○4 set up geography clubs in school to enrich students’ extra-curricular life.Finally the author designed a teaching case of "Vegetation and Environment" based on the rich vegetation materials of the High School Affiliated to Southwest University. |
