Students in high school are in the stage of golden age of adolescence, besides,they are the future of a country. The mental and physical health of students is not only related to their study and life, but also determines the quality of their service for the development of country and people. In recent years, some indexes which can reflex physical function and physical fitness are on the decline, such as endurance running,flexibility and muscle strength despite that the height and weight are increasing obviously. On the dimension of mental health, the disease rate of mental health of students presents a linear ascending, which draws much attention of the whole society.This paper consists in illustrating the effect of Happy Physical Teaching Method to the physical and mental health of students so that explore the feasible approach of improving students’ mental and physical health.With the 80 students of No.3 Middle School, Wulian County, Shandong Province as the research object, and takes 70-day experimental period, which includes 8-week exercise intervention, one-week pre-exercise test, one-week experimental preparation,this paper adopts the literature material method, data statistic method, control experiment method to measure and test the physical shape, function, quality and mental quality of students who experience the Happy Physical Teaching Method and traditional physical method respectively. The experimental results are as follows:1.Some indexes related to students’ physical shape and height presents small change both at experimental class and control class. While the ratio of weight and waist hip change dramatically, especially the waist-hip ratio of the experimental class is more obvious than that of the control class after the experiment, which shows that Health Physical Teaching Method can better shape the physical fitness than traditional physical teaching.2.The lung’s capacity test result which can reflex students’ physical function presents significant differences. By contrast, the effect to lungs’ capacity ofexperimental class is more obvious than that of the control class. The increase of students’ cardio-pulmonary function and the lung’s capacity prove that Happy Physical Teaching Method is better than traditional physical method in promoting students’ physical function.3.Some indexes which reflect physical quality, such as sit-up in one minute,pull-up, sit-and-reach, stand on one foot while closing eyes show obvious difference,which reflects the flexibility and balance of students improves dramatically. Besides,every physical quality of the experimental class is better than the control class before and after the experiment. The experiment reaches good effect and proves that Happy Physical Teaching Method is more beneficial for the development of students’ physical quality than traditional physical method.4.Some indexes which reflex students’ physical and mental health change obviously in the experimental class, which means the depressive state is on the decline and positive emotion is increasing. The anxiety and nervousness of students is alleviated. While the control class hasn’t changed a lot before and after the experiment, which reflects that Happy Physical Teaching Method is more obvious than traditional physical method in promoting the mental health of students. Happy Physical Teaching Method is beneficial for the development of the students’ mental health, especially for those students who often feel anxious, self-abuse, irritable, and impulse.
