Reading is one of the important means of human’s getting knowledge, and mathematics learning also cannot do without reading, and mathematics reading is a basic skill in mathematics learning."Ordinary High School Mathematics Curriculum Standard (Experiment)" pointed out senior high school mathematics curriculum should promote learning mathematics modes such as self exploration, practice, cooperation and exchange, reading and self-study and so on. Mathematics reading has been paid more and more attention as a way of learning mathematics, and mathematics reading has a great effect on learning mathematics. Mathematics reading ability also emerges as the times require as a kind of mathematical ability.It uses the reference method to define mathematics reading and mathematics reading ability. It uses method of questionnaire investigation to analyse on the present situation of senior high school students in mathematics reading and mathematics reading ability. The questionnaires are "The Questionnaire of Mathematics Reading of Senior High School Students " and "The Questionnaire of Mathematics Reading Ability of Senior High School Students". The main research contents and conclusions are as follows.1 It does a survey on mathematics reading situation of senior high school students from the four dimensions:the understanding of mathematical reading, reading habits, reading strategies and reading metacognition. The results show that, in the understanding of the mathematics reading, some students think that reading is the language discipline, and that the mathematics reading has less effect on mathematics learning; In their reading habits, more than half of the high school students seldom read textbooks before class or after class. In reading strategy, nearly half of the high school students seldom take notes and crossed in the key in mathematics reading. For the self questioning in reading mathematics, most of the high school students don’t have self questioning in mathematics reading. For reasoning, most high school students have this process. For metacognitive Reading, the majority of high school students in mathematics reading will sometimes or often can not concentrate. When meeting reading difficulties, most high school students have strong willpower and positive thinking to overcome the difficulties.2 It studies on the correlation analysis,and results show that the grades of present reading situation of senior high school students are significantly related to mathematic reading ability of students in senior high school; high school students reading ability in mathematics is significantly related to academic achievement of mathematics, the reasoning level and reflective level in mathematics reading ability more influence academic achievement of mathematics.3 It studies on difference analysis, and results show that different mathematics achievement of senior high school students have mathematics reading ability differences, especially in the reasoning level and reflective level; the different levels of mathematics reading ability of high school students have mathematics achievement differences; high school students of different gender have no significant differences in mathematics reading ability, and in the four level does not exist significant difference; different grades of high school students mathematics reading ability difference is not significant, but there was a significant difference in the perception of level and reflective level. |
