The new music curriculum standard explicitly pointed out that the feeling andappreciation of music is an important part of music teaching, and it is also aneffective way to cultivate students’ ability of music feeling and aesthetic. It is visiblethat the teaching of music appreciation is an important part of the activities ofmusic teaching in primary school. It also plays an important role in music teaching. Atpresent, the understanding and grasp of how the rural primary school of Zichuanimplement the teaching of music appreciation and the problems that still exist in theteaching plays a very important guiding role in improving the music appreciationteaching of rural primary school.In this study, we have an all-round understanding of the current situation ofmusic appreciation teaching in rural primary school of Zichuan. The understanding isguided by the new concept of the new curriculum, using literature method,questionnaire method, interview method, observation method, and case study method.In the process I select some teachers of rural primary schools and students of5rural primary schools as the research object, and I complete the research combinedwith classroom lectures. According to the survey, the situation of music appreciationteaching in rural primary school of Zichuan is not optimistic. It mainly displays inthree aspects: the attention of music appreciation class is not enough, the teachers’strength is weak, and students’ musical quality is not high. In response to theseproblems, I put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions on howto effectively improve the music appreciation teaching in rural primary school byanalyzing the deep reasons of the problems. This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is the outline of music appreciation teaching in the ruralprimary school. It includes the profile of rural elementary school music education inzichuan and the overview of the music appreciation course in the rural primaryschool.The second part is the investigation and analysis of the music appreciationteaching present situation in rural primary schools. Firstly, the design of the surveyscheme is introduced; secondly, the concrete implementation situation of investigation and research are explained; thirdly, the schools’ music appreciation teaching,teachers and students in music appreciation teaching are separately investigated andanalyzed in the research of the present situation of the music appreciation teaching inrural elementary schools of Zichuan. The third part is the analysis of problemsand reasons existing in the teaching of music appreciation in rural primary school.Through the analysis of relevant information and data and the reflection summary ofthe present teaching situation of rural primary school music appreciation of Zichuan.The existing problems and reasons of the rural primary school music appreciationteaching in Zichuan are found. Firstly the attention of music appreciation class is notenough. Secondly, the teachers’ strength is weak. Thirdly students’ musical quality isnot high.The fourth part is the countermeasure of the development of rural primaryschool music appreciation teaching. According to the results and analysis of thesurvey, the author put forward suggestions to promote the development of ruralprimary school music appreciation teaching of Zichuan in three aspects, the increasingunderstanding of music appreciation teaching, the promotion business ability ofteachers in rural primary school and the reasonable choice of teaching methodsand content.
