The era of shallow reading has changed the traditional way of reading. Internet as a representative of shallow reading is being chosen by more and more young people. The students of contemporary are circled by the vast amounts of information,which provides a foundation for the construction of junior high school student’s language reading life. However, everything has two sides. Shallow reading also brings many negative effects.According to the survey, we should pay more attention to the issues existed among the junior high school stedents. Reasonable counter measures are also of great importance. Therefore,make a better use of the advantages of the era of new media. At the same time,we all are supposed to actively respond to the new challenges which junior high school students are facing in the era of shallow reading and to solve the problems occurring in modern junior high school students ’s reading life. So building a ideal reading environment for junior high school students becomes an issue in the field of education issues.This paper aims to show the current status of junior high school students. And let people realize the impact brought by the way of shallow reading. Then propose an effective coping strategies. Appeal to families, schools and community for full support to build an ideal environment for secondary school students.Although shallow reading has become a trend, high school students should be guided to take advantage of shallow reading.Students can use the way of shallow reading to explore the way for reading in depth,and together with these two ways of reading to improve students’ ability of reading.According to the above frame of mind, this thesis consists of five parts. The first section highlights the historical background of the topic, research status at home and abroad as well as relevant research methods used in the creative process. The second part introduces the relevant definition of shallow reading and deep reading. Revealing the reasons why shallow reading gains the upper hand compared with deep reading.The third part are questionnaires based on the actual situation of reading among junior high school students.The fourth part generalize the reasons why the junior high school students have problems in their process of reading from the following five perspectives. They are the time, the content,the ways, purpose and the external environment of reading.The fifth part is the main focus of this paper.It mainly elaborates how the junior high school students build their reading life in the background of shallow reading. The specific strategies are to guide students to read more books, read good books and know how to read; instruct students to handl the network information properly; try to get supports form the family, school and social.Middle School seeks to improve reading skills, make better use of shallow reading to enable students to develop the good habit of independent reading.Finally, the conclusion summarizes the contents of the whole chapter.Hope to construct an ideal reading life in the future.
