A new round of curriculum reform in senior high schools has lasted for a 8 years in Dalian. Change the teaching style in the reform of education has become a increasingly prominent majority of teachers and researchers.According to Dalian 30 teachers(including 4 cadet teachers)of five high schools as the research object, using the method of questionnaire,the interview form and classroom observation. This thesis described three aspects: the current status of Dalian high school geography teaching style change, effect factors and suggestions to improve geography teaching style.Result shows that Dalian high school geography teachers has already accept the ideology of new curriculum reform and try to use it in the class.The idea sets up the value orientation on the basis of students and give the class back to students.Teachers guide the students to take part in class actively and vividly, and also using modern information technology which can provides students good learning environment with independent exploration,cooperation study and resource sharing.Dalian high school teachers take a lot to avoid the phenomenon of chalk and talk. However, at the same time, we also must see soberly there still exists major difficult problems.Here are the problems:some experienced teachers are hard to adapt to the development of new teaching style; the workload of geography teachers increases quickly; teaching style between junior high school and senior high school are quite different; attitude of students towards geography subject is not very affirmative; new teaching evaluation mechanism has not been fully established.According to these difficult problems, hand will adhere to the teaching style innovation. Geography teachers should participate in essential training to improve personal qualities.The school and teachers should also overcome all kinds of difficulties to seek multilateral support.At last establish a new teaching evaluation mechanism together.It is very useful for Dalian high school geography teaching reform has certain significance and reference value,and provide guidance to experienced teachers and those would-be teachers.
