Expression is a kind of behavior reflecting human’s thinking results by language,containing its spoken and written forms. The cultivation of students’ ability for expression can not only improve students’ compositive quality, but also help their logical thinking ability development as well as interpersonal communication development.Furthermore,it favors a solid foundation for the students entering into the society. In junior high school stage,the development of language ability of students is extremely rapid. If we profit from this period for language training, the effect will be twice the result with half the effort. For a long time, people often lie on Chinese subject for the cultivation of students’ ability of expression. However, History, as a curriculum of humanities,can also play an important role in cultivating students’ ability of expression, because of its unique characteristics and methods.By the "History curriculum standards of compulsory education" (2011 Edition) about the students "expression"ability requirement, it manifests in the curriculum goal, teaching suggestions and evaluation recommendations and many other part, which show that the history curriculum of junior middle school emphasizes students’ expression ability.This paper try to analyze the historical expression ability of junior middle school students from the following three aspects. First, a summary of historical expression ability research,which focuses on the conception of historical expression ability, characteristics,theoretical basis and its significance; and then an analyzes on the present situation and causes of the expression ability of students learning history; finally,it puts forward some strategies for the development of students’ oral and written language expression abilities.
