The international school has its unique school idea, setting goal, the management system and the curriculum system. The international school pays great attention to the student individuality development, advocate multicultural education, pays great attention in molding the student moral character. Looking at the present international school music curriculum, the parents have begun to emphasis on the student music accomplishment, and students also have certain musical instrument skill, but mostly the Western musical instrument primarily. Many international schools have the wind and stringed musical instruments philharmonic orchestra in their school curriculum, but only a few schools teach Chinese philharmonic orchestra. The Chinese folk music is part of the multicultural education, it is vital to introduce Chinese cultural music to the international students. This article is based on the multicultural education idea research to teach Chinese traditional musical instrument ‘hulusi’, through the music, students and teacher discuss the emotion and China history aspect of the song to widen the knowledge and experience of the Chinese traditional music.This article is divided into five parts, the first part is an introduction, mainly introducing the paper the research background researching the goal and its significance, analyzing the present situation, introducing the research technique, and has carried on the limits to the correlation concept; The second part introduces the significance of the Chinese folk music in the international school, analyzes the Chinese music culture from the international school unique education idea; The third part from the school overall survey, the school idea, ‘hulusi’ educational model several aspects of the object to carry on the introduction; The fourth part discusses the international school student through the real diagnosis research to the Chinese music culture cognition; The fifth part is the conclusion and reflection, summarizes the full text, proposes the deficiency.This research uses the questionnaire survey procedure, individual interviewing and the education narrative method to conduct the real diagnosis research. The researcher has done research on 56 of international school middle school students. The research is based on before introducing to the student of the Chinese folk music, the ‘hulusi’ instrument; and the parents/ guardian view about introducing the Chinese cultural music in class.The findings showed that, the international school students accept the folk Chinese music, but their knowledge towards this topic is limited. Chinese folk music is concentrated in a few students like Chinese pop music, have little interest in traditional Chinese folk music. Through the study of hulusi, students can listen to some Chinese folk music and learn some music knowledge The Chinese nationality instrumental music study enhanced the interest of the Chinese music culture.
