Family is the place in which children get education at the earliest time, and therefore the educators in a family are people of most intimacy and reliance to children. In that case, family education plays an extremely significant role in a child’s growth and it will even influence the whole life of him or her. Art education, as a part of family education, can not be replaced in a child’s life. Through drawing and painting, a child can develop his or her perception, intelligence, language skill as well as mental health.Nowadays people pay increasingly more attention to family education, especially pre-school education. However, based on the results of questionnaires and interviews, the writer finds there are still some obvious problems existing in family art education, such as lack of recognition, comprehension and direction, which lead to the situation that art education is far from sufficiency in families. As children grow up, they engage in fewer activities concerning art and meanwhile their interest in art are transferred. Some of children even don’t take part in art activities.Through the collection, collation and analysis of successful cases, the writer puts forward the following measures to help improve children family education: to develop the environment that is helpful to children family art education and to carry out corresponding activities. The writer does the experiment and case study and offers help and guidance for volunteer families. Besides, the writer comes up with different teaching ways of drawing skills for children of different ages and furthermore implement in volunteer families. An obvious progress and change has been seen in children’s painting.
