As a special group of teachers, the headteachers not only want to complete their class work,but also they need to organize, lead and manage classes as a class leader. They are the soul and core of the class. What’s more, the survival condition of the headteachers influence, even determine the method and attitude that they work. So pay attention to the survival of the headteachers is equal to students’ education and themselves. Primary headteachers face to a group of pupils who are needed more effort, more energy, more skills. The pupils always dependence and imitate their teachers. So all of the headteachers’ actions have the great influence for their pupils. Thus, it’s essential for the study of their survival condition.This study regards the Y primary school as the example and do the survey from teachers’ daily life, working status and working psychological status. This paper is based on the qualitative research. First of all, the author have the basic situation for primary headteachers who are interviewed; Then the author select three headteachers who have different gender, seniority, job title and so on. In addition to, this study use the method of interview, observation and narrative research to get information, explore the survival status of primary headteachers and existing problems, also, the author do objective description and in-depth analysis combining with results of questionnaire.Finally, the author put forward some effective ideas and suggestions for the existing problems combining the content of the interview, so as to improve primary headteachers’ survival conditions and improve the quality of basic education.
