China has stepped into the decisive stage of building well-off society in an all-around way since the 18 th CPC National Congress; Marxism, Mao Zedong thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of "Three Represents", and Scientific Outlook on Development are all the ideological weapons for guiding the work of Party and the state. In order to build well-off society in an all-around way, it is necessary to make “all the development achievements benefit all citizens equally”,and realize social justice. The balance development of compulsory education is the critical link for realizing education equality, which needs the guidance of Marxism educational thought. Although neither Marx nor Engels once illustrated educational thought exclusively or systematically, the connotation of Marxism educational thought is very deep; it plays important realistic significance by combining with the status of balanced development of compulsory education in China.The contents of this article can be divided into four parts. The first part interpreted Marxism educational thought; it understood the times background,practical foundation and theoretical basis for forming Marxism educational thought,unscrambled the major contents in Marxism educational thought, and introduced its time and development in China since the founding of new China. Based on the achievements of balanced development of Chinese compulsory education since the implementation of supervision as well as evaluation of compulsory education, the second part emphatically analyzed the imbalance problems of compulsory education in three different aspects; with a view to the new social reality, it analyzed the new problems brought by urbanization. Through combining with the specific case, which is the achievement during educational balanced development promoted by A city, the third part summarized typical methods for reference. The fourth part combined with Marxism educational thought; meanwhile, based on the second and third parts, and aimed at specific issues as well as the enlightenment and thought brought by the practice of R City, it raised its reflection on promoting the balance development of compulsory education, improving compulsory education level and advocate educational equality, and attempted to propose countermeasures.To sum up, by using the research method of combining literature research and case analysis, it studied and reflected on the connotation as well as development of Marxism educational thought, and the realistic guidance significance of balanced development of compulsory education, which are expected to help solve theproblems faced by balanced development of compulsory education, promote educational equality, and realize social justice.
