Research On Using Concept Maps/Mind Maps For Information Technology Education

Concept map/Mind map is already widely and deepened used in matter-contents in many countries including China.As we all know, to improve students' Information Literacy is a core goal of Information Technology Education. Could Concept map/ Mind map help us realize this goal? This thesis will inquiry on where need concept map/mind map be used and how to be used effectively and efficiently, with experiments, interviews, questionares, literatures.There are mainly 7 chapters in this thesis: Chapter 1 reviews the development of Concept map/ Mind map; Chapter 2 introduces differrent computer softwares used to make Concept maps/ Mind maps; Chapter 3 explores the implications of Concept maps/ Mind maps for teachers and students, and displays what teaching content in Information Technology can using Concept maps/ Mind maps. Chapter 4 displays an implemented experiment on learning a paragraph about Java technology. Chapter 5 displays an experiment design on how to use Concept maps/ Mind maps to design personal websites. Chapter 6 displays an experiment design on how to use Concept maps/ Mind maps to sum and order data in Microsoft Excel. The final Chapter, Chapter 7, inclueds summary and prospects on the theme.
