| Reading is the most important section of Chinese teaching. In the traditional teaching way of Chinese reading, instilling teaching restrained individual development. The teaching process of reading show a time-killing and inefficient in traditional class, a large number of students reduced interactions between teachers and students.Old-fashioned teaching methods, the pressure of the examination-oriented education system----scores assessment, and the depression, boring and inflexible atmosphere in class, which make the relationship more and more intense.Eco classes based on the harmonious development of individual, the ultimate goal is cultivate a harmonious, full of self-confidence and vitality person, which is easy to get along with others. Reading workshop is common in western countries, as the main of the reading teaching method, students can free to choose their favorite books according to their own interests which make them become a real reader. In this paper, we try to observe and learn from Kunming International School, the reading workshop in eco-class. Consider in a certain aspect of extracurricular reading circumstances and issues, take the author’s class as the objection, in a harmony, dynamic and opening eco-class, teachers and students have free interaction in a democratic and harmonious atmosphere attempts to implement our reading workshop in eco-class.The author analyzed and learned from eco-class and reading workshop in existence. Through observation and discussion to understand the elements and processes of Kunming International School’s reading workshop. Demonstrates the feasibility of carrying out the reading workshop in eco-class.The author has been launched an extracurricular reading workshop research and proposed extracurricular reading teaching methods through reading workshop in eco-class. In this paper, the author strives to achieve the integration and connection between extracurricular/curricular reading, provide a way to make the reading teaching more efficiency. Practical applications validate reading workshop in eco-class is a much better way to promote reading habits and interests in Chinese teaching. |
