The 2lth centUry will move its steps into the era ofknowledge economy whose main feature, differen from that ofagricultural and industrial economy, is to create new ideas. To bring forthnew ideas won't be realized without the creative talents. Colleges andunversities are the important places to train creative talents. Nowadays,the cwhculum system of higher education hasn't kept pace with thetraining of creative talents. To solve thes problem, the author has putforward an effective way-the curriculum reform in colleges andunversities, Whch is the trend of higher education reform the world over.Curriculum integration refers to the horizontal relationship andassociation among the differen elements in the structure of thecurriculum, essentially the systematic study of not ony thecomprehension of the curriculum contents and its structure, but also thecurriculum theoretical concept, study habits, management and evaluation.With the purpose of viewing the curriculum integration connotation,thes artic1e intends to (1) discusses the essence, basic feature, origin andcomponens of the curriculum integration; (2) points out tha curriculumintegration reform has the great imPact on the creative talents;(3) suggestthe ways, esPecial1y by suggesting tWo models, of the curriculumintegration reform in colleges and universihes; and recornmend a generalframwOrk for the Me reform of school cwhcula in China.
