| Our Chinese textbook has a long history and comes down in one continuous line. Ancient Chinese textbooks were a strong prop for the development of ancient Chinese education and laid a solid foundation for the enhancement of Chinese culture; modern Chinese textbooks play a positive role in spreading and evolving Chinese culture. Because of some erroneous tendency in understanding of Chinese education resulted from certain causes, our modern Chinese textbooks develop in a winding way. New curriculum reform of elementary education adheres to student-development-based curriculum concepts, and Chinese curriculum criteria in compulsory education also states an all-round improvement of student's Chinese attainments, both of which put forward corresponding requirements for Chinese textbooks. The content of the research is about the assessment of Chinese textbooks. The assessment of Chinese textbooks involves reviewing textbook systems and understanding the concepts about Chinese textbooks. Textbook systems in the world have some common elements and the textbook systems of our Mainland, Hongkong and Taiwan also have their own specialities. This paper draws lessons from foreign relevant research cases ¤t condition, issues and research cases of assessment of Chinese textbooks of our country, taking them as the base of my paper. On that base, the research discusses some theory issues of assessment of Chinese textbooks, which includes the value of assessment of Chinese textbooks, the groundwork of assessment of Chinese textbooks & the subject and object of assessment of Chinese textbooks. The paper also discusses by time the vertical and horizontal assessment of Chinese textbooks, and then talks about the criteria of assessment of Chinese textbooks. Chinese textbooks have their own values to individuals and society. The function of assessment of Chinese textbooks includes examine, select and development which now appear to be more and more important in the curriculum reform of elementary education. The assessment of Chinese textbooks must be based on social politics, economics, culture and education, and only by doing that we can objectively assess Chinese textbooks. The process of assessment of Chinese textbooks is a process of interaction between subjects and objects. The subjects contain subjects of values and assessment, and the objects are Chinese textbooks. Chinese textbooks experienced historical and present development. Assessment of language textbooks of foreign countries and our China from ancient time to present ages will be beneficial to the construction and development of Chinese textbooks. The criterion of assessment of Chinese textbooks is one of the research focuses. To raise criteria of assessment of Chinese textbooks is demanded by the assessment itself. To establish criteria of assessment of Chinese textbooks must has according basis and depends on some corresponding researches. This paper attempts to work out some criteria of assessment of Chinese textbooks of compulsory education as reference. The last part is about the process and approaches of assessment of Chinese textbooks. The research just bases itself on ordinary theory discussion, so as to lay a foundation for the following actual assessment of Chinese textbooks. |
