Ideological and political course in middle school is a necessary link of compulsory education stage in our nation. With the step of curriculum reformation, the curriculum and teaching materials have been changed a lot, but the teaching of ideological and political course in middle school still has many shortcomings. So, reflecting the teaching of ideological and political course, according to the psychological and developing laws of middle school students, using the relevant researching achievements of modern psychology and education and with the teaching practice of teachers, there is some practical meanings to develop the practical research of independent study "four-link" teaching method in ideological and political course.The independent study "four-link" teaching method includes four links: leading self-study, organizing discussion, less teaching to answer questions, practices to improve. With optimizing the class teaching, reforming the teaching method, paying attention to instruct the study method, this method develops the self-study ability, expressing ability, analyzing and criticizing ability and creating ability of middle school students, let them play their independent roles in classroom. And this makes the classroom full of energy, improves the students' knowledge, ability, consciousness and behavior at the same time, and lets the students' study get gain, get thought and get effect. And this also can let students learn to analyze and solve actual problems in real life with dialectic materialistic opinions and historical materialistic opinions.With analyzing the basic mode and theory foundation of the "four-link" teaching method, this thesis suggests that independent study "four-link" teaching method should follow the principles that the students is the main body, team-study, contacting theory with facts and believing in the students' potentials. Through the analysis of the concrete teaching practice case, this thesis proposes the teaching strategies of "four-link" teaching method for the occurring problems in practice, and introduces the primary effects. At last, the researcher thinks that the ideological andpolitical course teachers should inspire students study interests and passion, give them more opportunities to express themselves and attend the discussion, more opportunities to apply what they have studied to analyze and solve practical problems, not chained by certain teaching mode, but neatly apply every kinds of teaching method to promote students' study and development.
