The focus of education will not just be to provide students with book knowledge. Instead, as an important of education, school education should take how teach students how to study, how to cooperation with each other and how to survive as its basic task. As the present society is highly competitive, physical education teaching, as an important part of school education, is essential to the implementation of quality education and the cultivation of the talents who are well-developed morally, intellectually and physically. Nowadays, teaching is concentrated on the sports technique and ability which are concerned with operative knowledge. However, the cultivation of students' sense of competition and cooperation has not been paid enough efforts. Therefore, it will become the primary topic for the physical education workers to foster the students of ability of self-study, comprehensive use of knowledge, the ability to solve problems, sense of innovation and the sense of competition and cooperation.It will be conducive to transforming knowledge, skill, ability, and personality into students' qualities which can help them become well-adapted into the society for the teachers that we apply the theory of self-organization into basketball teaching, integrate the theories on education, sociology, psychology, and pedagogy, combine the principles and characteristics of basketball teaching, explore the characteristics of the self-organization of basketball teaching and the components of students' ability of self-organization. What is more important, the paper aims to improve teaching result, promote the collaboration between teachers and students, help students become the center of teaching, foster the students' ability to acquire knowledge and explore knowledge so that it will become possible that the students will actively participate in class activities, thus cultivating their ability for being qualified teachers.
