By making some investigation and surrey on the present teaching of instrumental music in outside—school education, the auther pointed out that the understanding of various kinds existing in many teachers parents and students resulted in several problems, including the guiding ideology and the training of objectives in practical teaching were undefined, the teaching contents tended to specialization, teaching methods were over simple, etc. All these problems not only were opposite from overall requirements of quality education, but also influenced on children' s bodies and minds. By consulting the literature and combinating individual' s thinking, the auther made a recognition about the status and roles of art education from several aspects, including how to make modern people adapt to the society and realize their perfect lives so as to meet the objective demands for art education, art education probably produces effects on children' s intelligence, art education and the training about student' s abilities of making in no rations, art education produces effects on non-intelligent factors and so on.. Moreover, the auther wishes instrumental music teachers, students and parents would give up their ideas of eagering for quick success and instant benefit, and wishes outside-school education could keep pace with quality education as early as possible. Besides, the auther wishes the guiding ideology, training objectives, teaching contents and educational methods would be adjusted. Ac cording to the law of art education and essential requirements for quality education, the auther put forward the teaching of instrumental music in out side-school ought to follow the basic teaching principle of enlightening teaching and persist in teaching principles of student' s subjectivities and student' s participation.
