Advanced artificers are different from the usual. They own special skills, with which they can solve some important technical problems in the firm, so they are core competence of the enterprise to some extent and they play an important role in modern economy. But China is faced with the serious problem of absence of artificers. After the entry into WTO, China should make full use of the advantage in abundant labor resource, try to develop manufacture, then becomes the world manufactory. However, now the impression that china-made products give the international market is still at low level of technique, and also low in technical additional value. Accompanied with the bigger stride of the Chinese open to the world, China will take part in international specialization more deeply. Firms all over the world will come to China and invest here, which means a great challenge to advanced artificers. They are crucial not only to the fate of the firm, but also to China-made products in international market. So how advanced artificers grow up will be the focus. The growing of advanced artificer can not only depend on enterprise's on-the-job training, it also need occupation technical education. But the advanced artificer can not satisfy the demand of market at present. This reflect some problems: the remaining concept in the planned economy, the lack of good macroeconomic environment, the lack of incentive mechanism. This paper analyze the growing path of advanced artificer with human capital investment theory. Advanced artificer can be educated by occupation technical training, at the same time it need on the job training too. In the first chapter ,I will put forward the main questions, introduce the background of these questions. In the second chapter, I will analyze the growing path of advanced artificer and the related theory and concept. The last part of this paper is conclusion.
