Higher Human Capital Development Applied Research

A new economic era with the characteristics of networkization,informatization digitization and knowledgeization approaches as human beingenters the 21st century. Economics growth will have new connotation in whichhuman capital will become the main resource and the fundamental drive.It has been proved that human capital has played an important role in thelong-term and continual economic growth of developed countries. As thelargest developing country, China has rich human resources. It will be abeneficial and austere problem how to transform these human resources intohuman capital. In recent years, the theory of human capital has achieved a lotin the face of the new economic developing environment. There are also moreand more scholars who researched the human capital problem in China.However, research has not offered a satisfying answer to the question of howto apply human capital theories into the development of universitiesthemselves, which is exactly the starting point of this paper.By reviewing on the evolution of human capital theories and studyingthe contributions of universities to the economic growth from the perspectiveof human capital development, this paper will cite University A as an example,further explore the practical meaning and basic strategies of human capitaldevelopment in universities.
