This article introduces the concepts, theories and methods of job satisfaction and also presents the comparative results of current situations about the job satisfaction of teacher both abroad and domestic. First, the study comes to a conclusion of a seven-dimension measurement of job satisfaction based on the interviews, experts opinions, factor analyses, reliability and validity test with current measurement on job satisfaction. Then a questionnaire for the main factors of job satisfaction which is based on that even-dimension measurement is conducted among the teachers in universities, and the result indicates the situation of their current job satisfaction. Finally, the article discusses the relationship between the job satisfaction and the turnover intention and job performance by the correlation and the regression analysis.The main results of the study are as follows:(1) There are seven evaluation indicators for job satisfaction of university teacher, such as self-fulfillment and development, leadership and management, welfare and rewards, job stress, job condition, superior relation and colleague relation.(2) The university teachers in Beijing are satisfied with colleague relationship, self- fulfillment and development, job condition and leadershipand management, but some are unsatisfied with relationship with their leaders. The lowest score is for welfare and rewards, which indicates that the teachers in Beijing are unsatisfied with welfare. And at the same time, the score of job stress is higher than 3, which shows that most university teachers are suffering from job stress and need to relax.(3) There are significant differences on job satisfaction from demography variables. Female teachers are less satisfied with self-fulfillment and development, leadership and management, welfare and rewards and job condition than male teachers. Ages makes great differences in all of the evaluation indicators except for the intensity in university teachers. The differences in education lead to different levels of satisfaction with work stress, work condition and relationship with peers. And the differences in title lead to significant differences in satisfaction with relationship with peers.(4) Two factors of the evaluation indicators influence the turnover intention, based on correlation and the regression analysis results. The self-actualization and development have positive influence on turnover intention while the work stress gives the negative influence.(5) Three factors of the evaluation indicators influence job performance. They are self-actualization and development, job condition and relationship with peers.
