Established in July, 2001, "The Standards for Chinese Course" for complusory education highlights one of the major themes for the Chinese course, namely, knowing the greatness of Chinese culture and digesting the wisdom of national culture. Almost as the same, "The Chinese Course Standards" for average high schools, which was established in April, 2003, also emphasized the importance of the traditional Chinese culture. As one of the most important components of the Chinese culture and even one of the intelligence essences for all the mankind, the culture of Xuzhou characterized with the sparkling local-colorism can be applied as one of the important resources for the development in the local Chinese course.At the same time, the Reform Design for the Elementary Educational Course ,which was published by the Ministry of Education, requires the management of the trinity of the courses from national, local and school systems, for that can both satisfy the needs for the supply of the national level course and the requirement of the education reform. The characteristic of the Chinese local course is by using all kinds of course resources to innovate as many activities as possible for the learning of the Chinese, developing more applied courses and finally enhancing the overall Chinese abilities for the students.This thesis consists of four parts as follows: 1. Preface.2.The evaluation of the worthiness for developing the "Xuzhou local culture course". 3. The development of "the locoal culture of Xuzhou" course as well as it's content. 4. The implementation and evaluation of "the locoal culture of Xuzhou"course."The locoal culture of Xuzhou"course can be served as a guide for both the teachers and students to use their own local culture from many aspects to develop new ways in learning Chinese, and thus to improve the students' accomplishment in Chinese and to prefect their own personality. At last, it can better serve for the local economic and culture development.Based on the both the physical and psychological features of the students, "the locoal culture of Xuzhou"course has ten subjects like History and Culture, Literature, Landscapes and so on, and the course is both comprehensive and practical. The content of the course has five ways in presentation, namely as conducting system, course system, visual system, practice system and knowledge system.The course is designed from an applied sense for the students, and has adopted a comprehensive practical way that fits the class. It uses concrete plans and educational cases to illustrate the practical matters of the courses.One of the key issues here is to evaluate the implementation of "the locoal culture of Xuzhou"course and there are three aspects can be used to construct such an evaluation system, namely, the evaluation of the school, of the teachers and of the students. For the evaluation of the students, we must follow the sprit of the new course and emphasize the evaluation of the process, self-evaluation and evaluation from others, etc. With the proper evaluations from all aspects, better teaching result and course planning can be achieved and thus helps students as well as the local economic and culture development to grow healthier and more beneficial.
