Persons, having consciousness of innovation and humanities quality, are needed during the knowledge economic times. History education is more important to foster these abilities. In the education system with the separation of arts and science, there are many problems in the education of history, such as different history teaching programme for students of arts and science, passive history learning and also lacking basic history knowledge of most students of science, history material leaving little space for students thinking, and so on. Although there are many history reasons, reality reasons for the separation of arts and science, it has caused some negative affection. The abilities of history teachers are descending. It goes against the cultivation of consciousness of innovation and humanities quality. And it also aggravates Exam-Orientated Education. Many experts and scholars are thinking about the separation of arts and science. Although it has caused many favorable effects, it has become the most import factor to condition the development of education. Parents and students, who cannot help but chose learning of arts or science, are more and more suspicious of this education system. Colleges and universities gradually increase the proportion of the enrollment of both arts and science. In this paper, I have known the above views through investigation and analyzing, which combined my practice of history teaching in middle schools. Moreover, I bring forward some views and measures. The study of this problem will help us know about the effect of the separation of arts and science, and help us provide better history education to improve the development of quality education.
