A lot of education research has been done on the development of personality of students in many countries. The development of individual and the development of personality became the theme of educational reformation in many developed countries as early as in 1980s. It comes to be emphasized in our country nowadays, which is the subsequence of the development of society and education. This reflects that understangd move on the essence and function of education. Art education has great superiority on cultivating students'personality.Cuided by the new subject standard"Advocating qualitative evaluation, developing students'personality", art teachers should make good use of teaching strategies and make students develop not only on knowledge and technic, but also on personality and aesthetic appreciation. But now few research on feasible strategies has been done on art class teaching. According to the character of high school students and the superiority of art education, this thesis devotes a lot to class teaching strategies on-developing personality, employing methads such as action research, experiment summary, investigation, and literature research.This thesis is composed of five parts. Part 1, exordium . It includes introduction, research actualities home and abroad, limitations,and raising questions.Part 11, knowledge and consideration on developing personality, including the defination, the theory and new consideration. Part 111, art teaching and developing personality, discussing elaborately on the discipline character and superiority. Part 1V, reseach on the teaching strategies, three strategies are introduced and discussed, the first strategy, changing the traditional roles of teachers and students, making the students participate; the second one, teaching uniquely and accordingly, and dividing the teaching aims into grades; the third one, fitting the teaching structure to develop students'personality. Part V, results and analysis.Results show that these teaching strategies, help developing and perfecting the students'personality. After a period of learning, the students have made progress in creative thoughts and independent thinking, and they begin to know how to evaluate others and themselves. Also this teaching experiences made me know the limitation of theories of myself. To do better on developing the students personality, teachers need to enhance their cultivation on personality first.
