Developing civilization and training talents in high quality for the society and economic are the mission for education. Whether a society has a harmonious ideology of teacher-student relationship or not is the foundation based on the society demands to education .The teacher-student relationship is the basic and major relationship through education. The teacher-student relation is not only the core in education process,but also the key to deepening quality education.It influences the transmission of educational information between teachers and students.The result of dealing with this relationship directly influences the effect of education and the realization of training aim in school and concerns students'psychological health and comprehensive development.This paper describes the different ideology of teacher-student relationship between Chinese and Americans to help set a better teacher-student relationship. It consists of four parts.Section 1:The concepts and significance of the ideology of teacher-student relationship are introduced. The developing history of the ideology of teacher-student relationship are expounded.Section 2: The presence and characters of the ideology of teacher-student relationship in China are introduced. The reasons of influencing teacher-student relationship are analyzed.Section 3:The different ideology of teacher-student relationships between Chinese and Americans are compared in the eyes of history and culture, and in the eyes of education factors. The reasons of causing the differences are also mentioned.History and culture reasons: ideology of teacher-student relationship in Chinese; ideology of teacher-student relationship in Americans; explanations to the differences from history and culture.Education factor reasons: comparison on admission between teachers and students, comparison on intercourse between parents and teachers, comparison on teachers'morals, comparison on class-teaching parts, comparison on teaching valuation.Section 4:This part describes that it is necessary to set a good teacher-student relationship, to find good measures to set a better relationship. Four aspects are analyzed: A. Do some research studies on the theories of teacher-student relationship. Discuss on this topic among teachers and students. B. To improve teachers'professional foundations is essential. C. To strengthen students'mental health education is the key. D. School, family and the society should co-operate together.Only is good ideology of teacher-student relationship settled, good image of education can be established. Forming fine teacher-student relationship not only helps to improve students's scores,but also to form scientific and efficient study habit,to perfect students'cognition structure,and to improve students'studying consciousness,thinking ability and other qualities.Fine teacher-student relationship is the basic guarantee to realization of making students study by themselves.
