HangChow Christian College is the higher education institution co-founded by the South and the North American Presbyterian Church in China.As a special institution of higher education,HangChow Christian College is the product of Church's expansion and globalization,and also the result of integration and adjustment to China's social background.In the last hundred years,on the one hand, HangChow Christian College bears missionary functions,on the other hand,with the awakening of nationalism in China,HangChow Christian College gradually changed the school model and adapted to the local community requirements in order to get to exist and develop.Because of the Limited information,this article focuses on the changes of school form of HangChow Christian College in Anti-Japanese War,and meanwhile refers to the development of the school before the war.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the main article can be divided into four parts:The first part introduces the early development of HangChow Christian College, including the start-up in Ningbo,early expansion in Hangzhou,and the management system and educational goals in the early time of the school;The second part focuses on adjustment of the University,changing of the educational objectives and registering to the Chinese Government with rise of Chinese nationalism during the 20th century;The third part is the main one,refers to the school form of HangChow Christian College in special period of Anti-Japanese War,including relocation, cooperating with other Christian Colleges in Shanghai,applied for the State University,as well as the situation in Guiyang and Fujian after the Pacific War;The fourth part introduces wartime relief activities,and the school form of HangChow Christian College in Anti-Japanese War embodies the globalization and localization of the Christian education.
