The relationship between teachers and students is the basic and most important personal relationship and their interactive state is bound to have an effect on the educational quality of school. The relationship is on the one hand harmonious and accordant but on the other hand is full of differences and conflicts. Owning to the diversified values in the current world, the conflict between teachers and students is also widespread. However, the characteristics and reasons behind the conflict is beyond the understanding of a few teachers, what's more, the teachers are short of awareness to explore vigorously the measures of solving the conflicts, thus exerting an negative effect on the relationship, and even intensify the contradiction. Therefore, it has been a significant topic to discuss the conflict and pursue the strategy aiming to relieve it.The paper focuses on the conflict between teachers and students in the phase of junior high school, this is not only because it is a commonplace in this phase but also which has typical significance. Based on the document analysis at home and abroad, the author studied the current conflict between teachers and students and selected four junior high schools as samples to carry on the individual research, while introducing questionnaire and interviewing methods. According to the above study, the author investigates the conflict, analyzes its characteristics and causes and puts forward the strategy.The study shows that the relationship between teachers and students is harmonious comparatively, but there still exists some amount of conflicts firstly, the conflict is present in the form of generosity and recessiveness secondly, recessiveness is the most. Thirdly, there are many reasons causing the conflict, but the perspective to it is different. In most of the case teachers believe that students are the main reason triggering the conflict, while students think that it's because of the lack of understanding by the teachers that causes the conflict. Fourthly, the conflicts are characterized by such aspects as : boys more than girls in the conflicts between teachers and students, female teachers are more likely to cause conflicts than male teachers, younger and middle-aged teachers are easier to have conflicts than old teachers, most conflicts happen in the classroom while less outside. Fifthly, middle school students'perspective on the conflict is of big difference, obviously, which is related to the different background of each student and their immature personality and limited cognition capability.The study also indicates that the reasons behind the conflict are complex and various. The author carries on the analysis of the conflict and puts forward the strategy relieving it in the perspective of sociology, pedagogy and psychology and in the aspects of society, teachers, students, schools and families.The paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is introduction,which introduces the foundation of the topic, the aim, significance, thoughts and methods of the study, what's more the issue to discuss is also concluded.The second chapter is literature review. The theoretical foundation and the basis constructing the pragmatic research came into being through analyzing the document at home and abroad.The third chapter is the current investigation study of the conflict. The author reveals the situation and characteristics of the conflicts by selecting four junior high schools as samples to carry on the individual research, and through introducing questionnaire and interviewing methods.The fourth chapter is the cause analysis. The author explores thoroughly and deeply the reason and characteristics of the conflict from multi-subjects and many different aspects such as society, teachers, students, schools and families.The fifth chapter puts forward several strategy thoughts according to the related research, the rational recognition of the conflict and by combining educational practice as well.
