Through the method of the documentation, survey, interview, observation and statistic, a deep investigation has been carried out in eighteen junior schools distributed in eleven districts of Shanghai to research the current situation of the physical teaching. Through the method of survey and observation, students'feeling and knowledge on all aspects of PE lessons have been disclosed, the situation where teachers give lessons and their suggestions and puzzlement on the reform of the PE lessons have been investigated. In accordance with the result of the surveys in different schools, the current situation of the PE lessons and the development of teachers have also been uncovered. At the same time, after having a deep conversation with front-lines teachers, faculties, I understand their attitude to the new PE curriculums and the problems in the process of carrying out the new curriculums.In accordance with the result of the investment, on the exam-oriented background, some teachers of other subjects and school leaders haven't laid enough emphasis on physical education so that PE teachers are often in a low status and PE lessons are sometimes occupied in some schools. Students usually show great interest in PE lessons and physical activities, but teachers'choices of teaching content and methods can't completely stimulate their interest in study, which is not good for the development of their personality. The assessment on students'scores is far from reasonable, so a more efficient way should be searched for. What's more, the investment in physical education such as the investment in the field and facility can't satisfy the need of physical education. And the age structure of the PE teachers is far away from reasonable, which needs to be further adjusted. Along with it, Some PE teachers haven't formed a deep and all-round understanding on the new curriculum, which obstructs the implement of it.Based on the reality and the latest materials, the thesis paper overall analyzes the current situation and the existing problems of implement of the physical fitness curriculum in junior schools in Shanghai. As for these problems, some reference strategies have been put forward, hoping to supply some theoretical evidences to further deepen the reform of physical and education teaching, enhance and improve the quality of physical education in junior schools in Shanghai.
