Fuxian Lake Geological Tourism Resource Evaluation And Protection Strategy

Tourist resources are vital for developing tourism. Geological tourist resource is one basic element of natural tourist resource. Fuxian Lake area, abundant in geological tourist resources, is valuable for tourism. At present, developing the tourism resources in Fuxian Lake area is only focused on business, esthetics and leisure without consideration of its value for science and integrity, omitting its ecological benefits and social benefits. Hence , it's worthwhile of assessing scientifically the geological tourist resources in Fuxian Lake area for market, to develop lake tourist products as highlights of lake geological tourism.Geological tourism resource of the Fuxian lake area is well developed and can be classified into 10 sub-groups that may be included in 4 main goups: the Stratigraphy and paleontology group (may be subdivided into two sub-group stratigraphic section and fossil bearing locality);the mineralogy and ore deposite group;geomorphological relic group( subdivided by structural relic and karst geomorphological relic sub-groups);water body scenery group ( consists of lake, wet-land, spring-pond, island, base-rocked lake shore, and sany lake shore sub-groups).Based on the investigation on the geological tourism resource in the Fuxianhu Lake drainage area, a semi-quantitative estimation was employed to the geological tourism resource as the following: firstly an evaluation table based on specific characters of the geological tourism resource was presented;secondly, according to the evaluation table, quantitatively estimated all kinds of geological tourism resource;lastly, qualitatively estimated the aesthetic value, scientific value and the development potential of the resource (including regional condition, transportation condition and visitor source market condition. The result shows that, the geological tourism resource of the Fuxian Lake drainage area occupy highly respected aesthetic and scientific values and can will be a very good place for tourism exploitation.Some problems sequentially appeared in the exploitation of the geological tourism resource of the Fuxian Lake drainage area: 1. low level of exploitation, lack of border view and sustainabal view;2. lack of general planning, with unreasonable structure, scale and layout;3. environmental problems appeared: inning of the lake, soil erosion, was very serious;organic pollution was strengthened, eutrophication was speeding, therefore water pollution was getting worse and biodiversitycontinues losing.The author suppose that the strengthening of the protection of the geological tourism resource should be focused on the following three aspects: the geological resource protection, the ecological environment protection and sustainable development of the tourism. Among them, the most important one is the protection and curing of the geological resource and resource environment, which may include: 1. strengthening water body protection, prevention of the soil lose and curing of the lake-shore wet land;2.developing environmental protection knowledge of the public;3.re-desigh the layout of the geological tourism installations;4.rebuild the administrative structure and enforce the law.Finally, benefit evaluation of the protection of the geological tourism resource was performed. The results show that economical, social, and ecological benefits will acquire when the protection of the geological tourism resource has been processed. 1. promote the environment protection of the Fuxian Lake. 2. improve the style of the tourism of the Fuxian Lake drainage area, 3. favor the ballance of the economical, ecological and social benefits.
