| After accumulation in thousands of years, historic towns in China now are a lively carrier of cultural heritage. They're located around every corner in great China as the epitome of great Chinese culture. The studies on conservation of historic heritage in China made good progress in past few years. Nevertheless, in a fast-growing developing country, a great many of threats from construction, conservation and tourism inevitably jeopardize these historic towns. Now there is a big challenge for advanced conservation of historic towns in China.To keep invaluable cultural heritage of historic towns from further damage, a research on precaution methods of historic towns conservation was conducted. This research was supported by the Supporting Program of the "Eleventh Five-year Plan" for Sci & Tech Research of China, and aimed at effective evaluation on current conservation state of historic towns exterior space, and forecast of changing trends in future. Research began with analysis of both internal and external factors for conversation precaution, as well as conclusion of both domestic and international related precaution theories. After that, there was a field investigation in 12 historic towns of Southwest China. According to the field investigation, criteria were selected from elements and variations of historic towns exterior space. The indicator of historic towns exterior space conservation precaution was developed, and then the precaution system based on fuzzy analytic net process (F-ANP) was built. The last step was a case study of exterior space conversation precaution in Lizhuang of the Yibin county in Sichuan province. The feasibility of precaution system was proven. The development of historic towns exterior space conservation precaution system strengthens and improves the precaution system of historic towns conservation. It also helps monitoring and developing the state of historic towns as the very supporting technology. |
