Of Green Substation Evaluation Index System Research

Nowadays, electricity consumption is increasing continuously as the economy is developing rapidly and urban area is expanding constantly. In order that power supply can cope with the fast pace of urban development, constructions of transformer substations are getting more and more important. The trend is to build environmental-friendly transformer substations——the green substations. However, the lack of systematic and scientific evaluation indicators for the so-called"green substations"remains a prominent issue. Methods are not available to verify if a transformer substation is"green"and how"green"(the rating) it is. As a result, regulations cannot be established, and thus, it hampers the effort to promote the construction of"green substations". It is necessary to exert great efforts on the study and compile a systematic"Evaluating Indicators for Environmental-Friendly Transformer Substations". With reference to the standards adopted abroad for evaluating"green"architectures, through on-site researches and investigations using meteorological technical standards, rules and regulations, statistical analysis, and computational analysis, through economic and technical comparisons, and through reviews by relevant experts, we preliminarily establish a systematic"Evaluating Indicators for Green (Environmental-Friendly) Transformer Substations".the System rates a substation as one-star, two-star or three-star substation, mainly by evaluating its land conservation and land use, energy conservation and energy use, materials conservation and materials use, and categorizing various standards and regulations into control items, general items, and optimization items. Meanwhile, the System studies the substations which have already been built regarding the degree to which they comply with the evaluation indicators in order to verify preliminarily the feasibility of the indicators. Since this evaluating system is the first one of its kind domestically and abroad, it fills in the blank and we must be careful and strict on our study. Through actual implementation and constant verification and improvement of the evaluation indicators, the construction of"green"transformer substations will surely have a bright future.
