This thesis takes a new type of anti-riot grenade launcher with external energy as research object. The overall design and the structural design of main components have been conducted. And based on the above work, the dynamics simulation and finite element analysis of key components have been carried out.Based on the brief introduction of related weapons'research and operation principle, an overall program of the grenade launcher was proposed, in which the automatic action adopted the cycle theory of chain automatic mechanism. According to the overall program, main parts were designed in detail and the three-dimensional solid model was built by SolidWorks software. Then on the basis of ADAMS software's modeling principle, the virtual prototype model closed to actual situation was established in the environment of ADAMS after reasonable simplification. By the simulation in ADAMS, some dynamics and kinematics parameters of automatic mechanism, trigger mechanism and feeding mechanism have been obtained, and the corresponding analyses were conducted. The grenade launcher's kinematic reliability was proved and some parts were optimized through these parameters. Finally, by using ABAQUS finite element analysis software, the key parts'finite element analysis was carried out, including modal analysis and strength analysis of the barrel, contact analysis of the firing pin and percussion cap, strength check of the feeding slide and the locking piece. Through the finite element analysis, the design rationality of the key parts was further verified.This thesis provides a useful basis and guidance for the future design and research of such kind of large-caliber weapons with external energy. It may be a good reference.
