The translation of academic paper is an important means for academic exchanges as well as learning advanced ideas from foreign countries. Therefore, it is of practical significance and academic value. This paper first introduces Nida s equivalence translation theory and the characteristics of English academic paper. Then it tries to apply the theory in translation practice. The paper chooses three aspects—vocabulary, sentence and paragraph—to analyze the characteristics of English academic papers and the ways to achieve equivalence. Lastly, it puts forward corresponding methods by quoting the examples in translation practice. |
